Recently I've noticed that I have WAY too much going on inside my head. Over the past month I've thought of numerous topics to blog about, but I have either been away from a computer or there are too many people around to just sit and write what's going on in my pretty little head. So instead of doing the assignment that is due in 6 1/2 hours I'm going to purge some thoughts from my brain. I hope you don't mind my momentary ADD... Here goes nothing:
In the past year I have noticed I gained an obsession for WAY too many TV shows. It's gotten to the point that it's embarrassing to list all the shows that I am addicted to. This instant I am hooked on Dexter, a close friend recently introduced me to the twisted world of Dexter and I'm beyond hooked! There's something intriguing about the surprise twists summing up each episode, leaving you craving more. In reality it just means they have really good writers. But it's not just the writers who make the show, but the actors definitely bring the show to life with their impecable talent - Michael Hall did just win a Golden Globe for his acting the other night. So overall the show is awesome. If you don't already watch it go find a way to download/stream/buy season 1 pronto!!! Trust me, it's worth it.
Just like many others out there, I have dreams, life goals...some might even call it a bucket list; except some days I feel as if there are so many aspects of life that I'm interested in that I'm just spinning in circles, unable to decide what to do first. About 3 years ago I found an article about some guys who made a list of 100 tasks they wanted to complete before they died, and they set out on a journey to do them. That article inspired me to do the same, except mine is for me personally - not a collaborative effort of friends. Well, now those guys are becoming famous on MTV coming out with a new show "The Buried Life" - showing them checking off each item on their list and the adventures involved. That's cool for them, but I feel like "but... wait... I did/am doing that too... huh?..." I bet people enjoy seeing the predicaments/adventures these boys encounter, and in return they help someone out everywhere they go, but at the same time I feel, that it's not fair because a lot of us have bucket lists!
Did you know that Time Magazine rated Flickr.com to be the best website of 2009? Guess who came in second... well you'll never guess this... it's California Coastline. I had actually never heard of this site before I found that article, but it's basically a man with a camera and a helicopter who has flown the coast of California and took pictures of it. It's so simple, it's amazing!
Well, there's actually a lot more going on in my noggin right now, but gravity is winning the war with my eyelids, so I should be a good kid, finish my homework and hit the sack... I don't know why I'm telling you this in detail, this isn't Twitter. haha :)
Peace.
it's the little random thoughts and hobbies that make you unique...so embrace the uncool.

Breakfast Places for Champions
The funky little town of Encinitas, CA has so much character to offer the world; beaches, great surf, fish tacos, the hippie vibe, professional athletes, but most importantly - amazing breakfast cafes. During the summer, living it up in this quaint little town, I finally came to appreciate the art of breakfast. I discovered five amazing & unique breakfast spots within a 2 mile strip along Highway 101 in Encinitas. Any of the following are guaranteed to satisfy your breakfast desires!

A unique Caribbean cafe - providing a new healthy option. Extremely vegetarian and vegan friendly. Personally, this was my favorite place to eat in Encinitas. Every single item on the menu is tasty, so whatever you may be craving will surely satisfy your taste buds. My favorite item was the Tropical Burrito, which came highly recommended to me my numerous locals. The Tropical Burrito is a breakfast burrito with: eggs, avocado, cheese, beans, and plantains. Yuummm... I'm craving one at this very moment. Other items I can recommend from first hand experience include: the breakfast special (for those Plain Janes), Acia bowl (great for 2 to split), the Lite Burrito, Tuna Melt Wrap, and Acia smoothie. As I mentioned before, I frequented Mozy's numerous times, and never got sick of it!!! Five stars, hands down!
Pannikin
A quaint coffee shop - fast service, amazing coffee & teas, and fresh muffins and pastries daily. Don't let the long line intimidate you, their exquisite service will get you back on the road before you can finish appreciating the quote of the day. This brightly colored, restored railroad depot helps bring character to Encinitas' little community, Leucadia.
101 Diner

The 101 Diner has the rep of being the BEST breakfast location in Encinitas. Their menu includes the typical breakfast items, along with a variety of unique special items. Every breakfast lover will be able to a hearty breakfast at a reasonable price here at 101 Diner. Buyer Beware, their omelets are LOADED with cheese.
A Little Moore Coffee Shop
Tucked away along Hwy 101 in Leucadia, A Little Moore Coffee Shop provides the best post surfing breakfast around. This family owned coffee shop prepares the food right behind the counter, just like your traditional diner. They serve a mean French Toast, as well as delicious home fries, and amazing fluffy pancakes - you definitely get your moneys' worth with the awesome portion sizes and the tasty food!
Swami's Cafe
Swami's Cafe, which shares the name of the beach it faces, is a wonderful place to take the family for a weekend brunch. This unparalleled breakfast place provides a variety of options - including a wide array of omelets, traditional breakfast foods, brunch/lunch options, as well as an assortment of delicious smoothies. While the line requires a wait, once you're seated the food quickly follows. The large outdoor patio provides the perfect location to enjoy the Southern California weather before hitting the beaches.

Photoshoot
A few days ago my family went to the beach to take a family photograph for our Christmas card. This not only produced a suitable family portrait, but an entire photo shoot of my younger sister. These are a few of my favorite shots that I was able to capture. There are more that I really enjoy posted on Flickr.com.
The first photograph is of my sister jumping towards the camera. Since this was taken in the afternoon the colors inland give off a warmer feel compared to the ocean. On the personal side, this captures a signature "Meghan move," but what's even more exciting is that it froze her in mid-air and reminds me of a dinosaur as well.
The second photo is a supermodel shot. The serious look straight into the viewer's eye produces a powerful connection to the subject. I also feel that she could be a Twilight character in this photograph, which is one of many hobbies we share - reading (especially the Twilight books).
The third photograph looks like my sister is balancing on one arm, but really she is doing a cartwheel and I caught her in action. I also enjoy the never-ending feel of the sky and the way in which it reflects in the water.
In the fourth photograph I focused on capturing the movement of the water both in mid-air and as the waves roll in towards the shore. My sister is merely a background blur even though she's kicking the top of the water.
This last picture is definitely my favorite family portrait. It captures who we truly are as a family unit. Silly, lively, loving, chaotic, fun, and even stubborn (which is best shown with Moose, our puppy who refuses to pose for pictures). I love my family!
One feature that is demonstrated throughout all these pictures is movement. None of these pictures are posed, instead they merely capture an instant in time.
When I was editing and enhancing each photograph I focused on accenting different features giving each photo it's own individual feel. Some photos I focused on the colors in the shirts and the subject itself, and others I focused on aspects such as the water or sky. I find it boring when all the photos radiate the same effects - over time it produces a "cookie-cutter" feel that the photographer always portrays.
Wishing everyone a wonderful and safe holiday, and
"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"
